Samantha Numbers is a professional photographer and artist of nearly sixteen years, specializing in fine art and editorial wedding and portrait photography. Her goal is to tell beautiful stories through photographs, let moments unfold naturally, and capture them as beautifully, and creatively as possible.

Samantha loves the United States of America and is the granddaughter of a United States Marine who served in WWII. As a professional photographer, she is eager to provide each client with meaningful, high-quality photographs to cherish and treasure for years and years, as generational keepsakes... all while having fun in the process and being in the moment!

She takes her work seriously, realizing that our memories and the photographs we have of them are all that we will have to share someday. So let's preserve them well for a rainy day and share and print them for family to love and look through together at family gatherings!

Prompt and thoughtful communication:

Samantha is an Idaho Falls Photographer who is passionate, highly-organized and has a special eye for detail. From your first email, she has a plan and a vision for your photo session or event. She promptly returns emails, answers all of your questions, and provides a welcome guide filled with information relevant to your photo session or event. If you book online, you will always receive appointment reminders and updates. During your session, Samantha will review your shot list with you and provide feedback when hairs are out of place, lips are chapped, etc., and she will make sure you are being photographed at your most flattering angles.

High quality digital images and video:

 
Samantha's professional photography equipment is some of Canon's finest available. Her camera body is the 40 megapixel mirrorless Canon R5 and her lenses are L-series and considered the best in the business. She cleans each lens and tests her equipment to ensure optimal performance. Samantha personally uses Lightroom and/or Photoshop to skillfully edit each RAW, high-resolution image by hand. Her equipment coupled with her talented shooting, deliver sharp, colorful, well-lit and composed works of art. Samantha is at her core an artist, always working hard to find the best angles, lighting, compositions, locations and pure magic that all make up a great photograph.

Professional proofing, prints and products:

When your photo session or event is complete, Samantha will set up a private online proofing gallery where you will be able to choose your favorite images from hundreds of originals. After your favorites are sent off to Samantha and she has finished editing your photographs in Lightroom and/or Photoshop, you will then be able to order prints and other photographic materials directly through your proofing gallery. You will receive the highest quality products in the industry, insuring that your beautiful photographs will stand the test of time. While Samantha encourages her clients to order through her professional lab within their proofing gallery calibrated to her computers, the print release is always available for purchase should you need it. Samantha loves when her clients print their photos!

Adventurous, easy going and adaptable:

Samantha has photographed weddings from New York to Texas to Utah, Wyoming and Idaho! She loves to travel, see new places, and meet new people from all backgrounds! She easily adapts to changes in itinerary and loves when clients share new and exciting photo ideas with her. Samantha gets especially excited about her clients big plans and dreams! She loves to document and capture every little detail and showcase their love story from start to finish, from where they first fell in love, to where they got engaged, all the way to their honeymoon! Some clients have hired Samantha for the entire process, some have chosen to mix and match and she loves it all- as little or as much as the clients choose to be photographed.

Strong artistic background:

Samantha always loved to draw, learned Photoshop and Illustrator by 16, Final Cut Pro (video) by 17, and started programming her own MySpace pages in HTML at about 15. She also completed the 24-lesson mail-in program from Art Instructions Schools in her teens where she received multiple awards, took a summer college art class from Skidmore College in Upstate New York, was selected for AP Art accredited by Princeton University which class she completed with an A, graduated high school in New York with high honors and an art award and gift at graduation, then attended Brigham Young University-Idaho where she completed classes in illustration, but then found photography as a new favorite art medium and in 2010 ran with it from there! Her first wedding was published on the cover and a full inner page of a local wedding magazine in Rexburg.

Realism & Practicality

This is not Hollywood... I cannot reasonably shoot 6 hours of video footage without burning through 20 memory cards and 50 battery packs, 5 external hard drives for storage. I do not have a 5 million dollar budget. If you want that- it is a major additional charge. Some want Idaho prices but Hollywood everything else. She cannot pull a rabbit out of a hat for you. But she will do her very best to deliver the highest quality photos and video that she reasonably can, with the fantastic equipment that she owns. Keep in mind she is a sub-contractor and not your employee, and freelance photographer and business owner.
